LITTLE ROCK, AR – The westbound lanes on I-30 in Saline County back opened.
For at least two hours Thursday evening, the I-30 westbound lanes closed from mile marker 106 to 114. Smoke from a grass fire that broke out near mile marker 108 and 110 caused traffic to be diverted onto Highway 67. Traffic was at a standstill for at least 10 miles because of the closure.
Arkansas State Police say the fire was caused by a "truck equipment malfunction." Once crews extinguished the flames and cleaned up the westbound lanes, law enforcement reopened I-30 again.
