LITTLE ROCK, AR - A Little Rock police officer, shown on amateur video punching a man in the face outside of a Hillcrest restaurant in October 2011, will be suspended because of the incident, according to police spokesperson Michelle Howard.

According to a document released by the Little Rock Police Department Friday afternoon, Lt. David Hudson will be suspended without pay for 30 days starting Monday. Howard also said that Police Chief Stuart Thomas will release a statement regarding the suspension Monday.

The incident happened outside of Fernau restaurant on Kavanaugh Blvd. According to the police report, Chris Erwin - seen being punched in the amateur video - and another man got into a private party at the restaurant. The report says that Fernau management asked the men to leave but they refused. That's when Hudson, who was off-duty and working security at the party, stepped in. Erwin's lawyer, Keith Hall, told FOX16 in November 2011 that the party at Fernau was public, not private as stated in the police report.

FOX16 requested numerous documents dealing with Hudson's suspension, citing the Freedom of Information Act. Howard said the request will take time to process.

Attempts to reach Hudson for comment through the Little Rock Police Department were not immediately successful.
