Time for tough love as far as mom goes, at 27, it is time to be accountable for your own behavior. When the consequences are such that she wants no more, or had enough, the program of AA will hopefully get her sober and keep her that way.

FOX 16, it's MID-ARK Substance Abuse and Detox; NOT MEDARK. It's not a homeless shelter either. It a professional facility ran by the Little Rock Community Mental Health Center. I was a nurse there. Geez.

Most family trying to help get another clean up are most of the problem. You can't slap them on the back and pet them. Cut them off and throw them out. When they have nowhere else to go they MIGHT get help. Besides till their ready they will not quit.

jlp, I agree.. But you never really know, the girl may have been trying to get clean while her mother is still a user..Maybe that's why she didn't want to live with her. These days sometimes it's the parents who get their kid addicted to drugs. Or maybe she liked life in the street, believe it or not, some people do like it and will always go back to it no matter what opportunities are given for them to get their life straight..Either way, I really hope she's safe!
