THE STORIES ARE LIES...THE INDIVIDUAL DID NOT CUT HIS GRANDMOTHER AND WAS NOT HOLDING HIS GRANDMOTHER HOSTAGE HE WAS ONLY INFLICTING HARM ON HIMSELF AND NEVER MADE A MOVE TO THE POLICE IN A TREATING WAY. THEY HAVE ONLY HAD ONE ENCOUNTER WITH HIM AND THE CHARGES WERE DROPPED AGAINST HIM SO THEREFORE HE WAS NEVER CONVICTED OF ANYTHING.

The mother stated they could have shot him anywhere else. Officers are trained to shoot and stop the threat. A person that is wounded is just as dangerous as any other

It is good to know one more dangers person is off the streets. Crime is getting out of hand and if someone is threatening someone else or an officer, they need to take action instead of having our tax dollars pay for the criminals to get 3 square meals a day, weight rooms, etc.

Mentsl illness, as unfortunate of a condition as it is, does not make a knife attack any less deadly than from someeone without illness. If the records were on file with the police department, the only way a responding officer would be aware of it is if they have had previous dealings with the individual or if the information was relayed to them by the dispatcher. Officers are forced to make split-second decisions with limited information quite often. Its good to know that the officers are okay.

Before they went to the resident did they get all the info before approaching the scene. This young man had a history of mental illness so i am quite sure it was on record at the station.

I agree. But it breaks my heart that he couldn't get the help for his mental issues. I am glad to hear the officers reacted with quick resolution.

I would rather the perpetrator get killed than the cop any day of the week.
