LITTLE ROCK, AR – One home and three or four other buildings have been lost in a Perry County fire that burned between 900-1,000 acres of land, according to the Arkansas Forestry Commission.

250 people in the Perry County town of Casa were evacuated due to the fire, which is now 100% contained.

According to Sheila Doughty with the Arkansas Forestry Commission, the fire is believed to have been started by lightning. One home and three or four barn like structures were destroyed.

The Rose Creek Community near Casa and Homeword has also been evacuated south of Petit Jean Mountain.

AFC and Deltic Timber both had bulldozers on scene. Additionally, AFC had a single engine tanker fighting the fire. Spotters and Air Tankers were also being used to fight the fire.

A mobile command center is set up in Casa. The Adona City Hall is open for evacuees.

So far no injuries have been reported.
