PINE BLUFF, AR – Police have identified a suspect and victims in a shooting that left one dead and three others injured Friday night.

According to police, the incident began with a robbery attempt near Expressway and University Drive where 28-year-old Hal Johnson was shot. The gunman, later identified as 26-year-old Courtney Lewis, reportedly got away in a car, which he later wrecked then fled the scene on foot. Lewis then attempted to break into a vehicle containing two women and two children. When he could not get into the vehicle, he fired shots into it, hitting one woman in the hand and the other in the leg. Neither of the children were harmed.

Police say Lewis then stole another vehicle, fatally shooting the driver, 51-year-old Kenneth Donnell Davis. Lewis later wrecked that vehicle as well and was captured by police. He was taken to the hospital where he attempted to escape, but was quickly recaptured.

The other three victims are being treated for their injuries, which are considered non-life threatening.

Lewis was arrested and charged with Capital Murder, Possession of a firearm, three counts of first degree battery and seven counts of Committing a terroristic act. Police say additional charges may be possible.

The investigation is ongoing.

i cant stand to see things like this! of course he needs to be put to death. this is not something that should be made racial but he is a disgrace to my race. i am a proud black man and dont want to be nothing more than the succesful black man i am. the comments you clampetts make make me tell my kids (good kids with straight As and no discplinarys at all) to never trust a white person, never let your gaurd down around one because they think all blacks are criminals. one of you clampetts ever disrespect my child because of a waste of breath like this guy i will make sure you pay. all blacks are not criminal. that is like saying all whites are pedophiles just because you see the most cases of pedophilia coming from that race. this man should die for his crimes and should be put to death before 2012 but we all know he will get death and be executed around 2035. it sucks but its the truth

People I know this is a rediculous crime, but killing this guy by the death penalty is too EASY, yes us taxpayers will pay for him, but hey we are paying for FICA/SOCIAL SECURTIY, AND ITS NOT GARANTEED TO BE THERE FOR US IN OUR NEAR FUTURE THE WAY THIS ECONOMY IS LOOKING....SO WE AS TAXPAYERS MIGHTEST WELL PAY FOR A MONSTER LIKE THIS TO HAVE A TAX PAID HOME AWAY FROM SOCIETY....

Just put a fence around Jefferson and Pulaski counties and turn it into a big outdoor prison and let the thugs shoot at each other until they are all gone.

Thank you RealJustice for this information and sticking to the route of the problem. This is useful information that we all need to know!! Now we have a little knowledge and can look out for behavior signs. I get so tired of hearing/reading the ignorance of grown folks pointing fingers, blaming the town/city, ethnicity for the crimes that are comitted. Crimes come in all shapes, sizes and color. Our children and adults are also getting drunk off of liquid hairspray and gummies. I won't disclose how they get drunk off of gummies ( for the sack of children reading). Either way, this information is how we come together as a community and assist eachother in ways to protect ourselves and our families. Thnaks again for the info.

Reportedly, the suspect was using the fastest rising drug in this state. One the streets it goes by many names, including: SHERM, WET, WATER, and WET-WILLIES. A WET-WILLIE is the most common form of this drug. The Drug Dealer or User takes liquid Formaldahyde/Imbalming Fluid, and dips a plain cigarette in it, when it dries the drug user smokes this. This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, IT CAUSES SEVERE HALLUCINATIONS, THE USER APPEARS TO HAVE THE STRENGTH AND STAMINA OF 3 NORMAL MEN, AND THE EFFECTS ARE SAID TO LAST FOR MANY, MANY HOURS. When the drug dealers run low on Formaldahyde, the use plain finger-nail polish remover, that can be bought at most any store, for cheap. This stuff is the main cause of ALL of the MEANINGLESS KILLINGS in our state, and IF you read the news, in our COUNTRY! Cigarettes and Finger-nail polish remover are both very easy to get, so the question is: HOW IN THE WORLD DO WE STOP IT?????? We all know that our youth are risk-takers, and they seldom, if ever have the knowledge to make an informed decision, and allegedly one smoke of this stuff can literally send the user on a RAMPAGING KILLING SPREE, which appears to be the case in this recent Pine Bluff killing and shooting. Citizens MUST BE TOLD about this latest craze in drug usage!! Folks, all I know is that we can no longer go out at night alone, we can not let our guards down, if you see and hear someone acting strange, they just may be under the influence of a "wet-willie", and they are literally a ticking time bomb!! A disaster just waiting to happen!! If you come into contact or you are in the vacinity of one of these users, please quickly gather your loved ones and yourself, leave the area, and call 9-1-1, and pray the Police arrive ASAP, hopefully with lots of Back-Up, and then pray for their safety! He will eventually go to trial and the jury will hear how he had it rough as a kid in a broken home and they will feel sorry for him and just give him life in prison. Then we will feed and clothe him the rest of his life.

My guess is this is not Mr. Lewis' debut with law enforcement. The only thing this piece of trash would ever respect is a shot of poison in the veins. But our supreme court justices would just find a reason to overturn it.

Oh you just want to reach through the screen and wipe that smug look off of his face, however, I am pretty sure that his new room mates will do that many times where he is going. Shameful.

Do either of you live in PB? If not then don't degregate the town. The whole city is not a crime zone, just sections beginning with City Hall.
