While taking a Speech class at PTC in 02' I did some research for a speech. Used Federal stats from the PTC library. My speech was on welfare. It's been awhile, but basically this is what I found out. ( These figures are plus or minus a few percentage points of course, this being so long ago ). What I found out. About 70 percent of the US population was white, with whites accounting for about 30 percent of the people on welfare, food stamps, HUD, etc. Minorities on the other hand, made up the other 30 percent of the US population; yet they made up the other 70 percent of people on some form of welfare. These figures were from Federal Government figures. Like the author I mentioned in the previous post; either some people do not understand statistics ( and math! ), or they are purposely being deceptive.

Percent of recipients who are black - 39.8 percent.
