NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - An early morning shooting in North Little Rock leaves investigators looking for answers.
Police officers found a shooting victim, Fred Martin, lying in his driveway around 8:30 a.m. They collected some evidence, including what looked like clothing, near the driveway. They also took some pictures of what appeared to be blood on the side of a BMW parked in the driveway.
"At this point the Investigations Division is following up on any kind of information we're getting," said North Little Rock Police Spokesperson Sgt. Brian Dedrick. "We just don't have that information to put out right now."
Neighbors, for the most part, say the shooting caught them off-guard. They say it's not the type of thing you typically see around their neighborhood.
"It's quiet," said Rodney Lewis. "I mean you can hear the birds, you can hear the planes. I mean it's not a bunch of noise so it surprised me."
Lewis has other concerns too. He says Martin is his landlord and the landlord of a bunch of other tenants in the area too. That leaves Lewis very concerned about a couple of things.
"His health, his well-being," Lewis said of Martin. "If he die, what happen? Where do I have to go? Who will take over? Who do I pay my rent to?"
Police say they're not sure how serious Martin's injuries are. This is an ongoing investigation.
