VILONIA, AR - The power has been restored after Entergy customers in Vilonia woke up Tuesday morning without power for the second time in a week.

Julie Munsell of Entergy told FOX16 that the power is back for now, weather permitting. The same transformer caused both outages.

"We understand that the people who live in that area are now dealing with a second bout," she said, "so we want to make sure that we figure out what the cause is and fix it as quickly as possible."

Munsell said last week a wire contacting the transformer caused the problem. They are not sure what caused the most recent outage.

The power was rerouted around the transformer to restore service to the customers.

At Harp's grocery store in Vilonia, Tuesday's outage didn't cause much of a problem but last week's did.

"I know that we lost I think at least $200 worth of chicken during this last power outage," said Harp's Manager Kevin Payton.

Payton says Harp's has to either cover refrigerated and frozen products during power outages or move them to a refrigerated storage area. He says his store is prepared to do that again if necessary, but they hope it won't be.

"I'm hoping that we don't have power outages where we actually have to do that," he said.

Entergy is asking Vilonia residents to conserve electricity, if possible, to hopefully prevent another outage. One of their recommendations is to run air conditioning units at the highest comfortable temperature.

Lived in Vilonia for 8 years. Our electric has been lickering off a couple times a week, since we moved into town. This is not a problem that just appeared out of the blue. Energy has been aware of this problem and has not fixed it, or ven addressed that there was a problem.

Does this mean Entergy will add another charge to go along with their "Ice Storm Recovery Fee"?
