Thee was never any contract, Aramark sent over a letter offering to provide $700,000 to the university, if they rolled their contract like the UAF has their food service contract the last two times. No ne made or would have made a cent, if the Board had accepted the offer.

Please know that Aramark isn't going to give the UCA something for free. Although the work on the house may be a bribe, Ararmark is a business, and they will have to cover this expense in food contract with the University. I think if you research this you'll find this isn't the first such "questionable" incentive that Aramark has offered to get their deal approved. I think the only way to stop this kind of thing is to say no to vendors like Aramark who try to do an end-run around both policy and ethics and make these offers. The board must be held accountable--as well as the President. After all, the board directs and oversees the President's actions, and should be auditing his work. Sign me a concerned citizen who has seen this at another university...

I think it's safe to say due to UCA's previous performance that UCA's board members and next President need to be put under the microscope to see if further corruption is going to occur at the college.

Thats what Meadors gets for accepting BRIBES! It almost makes one think if the guy was actually set up. How many more crooked Presidents are going to be hired and at the helm of UCA? The students deserve better than this and there is a serious LACK OF LEADERSHIP at the college, even with the board members. The schools image is definitely tarnished due to selecting poor leaders! The board or someone in charge over at UCA obviously has POOR JUDGEMENT. If they need a MAN to lead that college who has the morals, professionalism, and the business ethics to do the right thing then we need to sit down and have a talk.

buy out his contract. Heck no!!!!!! he got caught doing something very wrong and that should nullify his contract and out the door he should go with nothing!!!!! what a waste of good money that could be used for something good or to pay for the contract of the next person. And for that matter, the company that did this should be ousted as well.

First, you can't tell me some trustees didn't know what's going on. Either this board is made up of liars or morons. I can't decide which. Second, just give the friggin job to Tom Courtway. He has to take over anyway every time you idiots have to fire your president. Beebe needs to fire this board as well.

Isn't it rather stupid to fire someone you have to pay for something that is in a contract? So reprimand him if there are other accepted offers if it is common practice (meaning there should be others someone on the board is aware of) now it sounds like he is a fall guy for one or more who didn't know! And if it is a university house he hardly profits and if it needs that much work be glad he made a deal, unless the deal is bad in other ways! Dang if you do dang if you don't- common or not???

I would imagine that Meadors got a fair amount of "MONEY" for that contract too. Why would it benefit him personally to get rennovations for the house that the university owns?
