Update: Arkansas House Okays Big River Steel Project

Monday afternoon's vote: 78 to 17.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Big River Steel Project has been approved by the Arkansas House.

In a vote early this afternoon at the State Capitol, representatives voted 78 to 17 in favor of the more than $1-billion project.

The Big River Steel mill was first announced in January near Osceola in Mississippi County.

The project promises to put more than 500 people to work at salaries of more than $70,000 per year.
