Update: Man Rescued from Oil Derrick in Texarkana

A man has been rescued after being suspended roughly 40 feet in the air on an oil derrick located just off North Rondo Road.
TEXARKANA, AR -- Emergency crews rescued a man who was suspended from an oil derrick Monday morning.

Deputies with the Miller County Sheriff's Office and Texarkana, Arkansas Fire Department conducted the rescue operation near North Rondo Road.

According to an official with the Miller County Sheriff's Office, the man was suspended roughly 40 feet in the air before being rescued.

Officials say the man's legs and an arm were badly hurt when the platform he was working on broke loose causing heavy equipment to come crashing down on his body.

He was flown to a Texarkana hospital where he's currently recovering.
