CABOT, AR — Authorities have arrested James Michael Davis in connection with deaths of two people in Lonoke County.
The sheriff's department says officers received a call just before 8 p.m. Friday of a disturbance involving a stabbing on Charles Drive in Cabot. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman who had been stabbed.
The man, 56-year-old David Linnon Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene. Tracey Lynn Mills, 45, was taken by helicopter to the hospital where she died. Both victims had been stabbed in the chest, according to investigators.
Davis, 37, was found in a wooded area near the home and arrested for the murders. Investigators say Davis knew the victims but a motive for the homicides has not been established.
