Update: Property Line Disagreement Possible Motive of Shooting

White County Sheriff's Deputies and the Arkansas Game and Fish Officers are investigating a non-life threatening shooting that occurred in Romance on Sunday around 7:20 p.m.

ROMANCE, AR --
Police have released new information pertaining to the shooting incident that occurred in Romance on Sunday evening.

According to statements obtained by police, Justin Yandell, 30, of Romance, was the victim in the shooting. 

Adam Doty, 32, of Little Rock, was hunting on his family's property when confronted by Yandell, who was armed with a pistol.

Police say Yandell threatened Doty and Doty's father, and there was physical struggle over the weapon.  During the altercation, Doty shot Yandell in the leg because of the threats Yandell was making with his pistol. 

Yandell was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot to the leg and is expected to be OK. 

Detectives say there is no report of alcohol or drugs being used, and the incident is still under investigation

ROMANCE, AR -- White County Sheriff's Deputies and the Arkansas Game and Fish Officers are investigating a non-life threatening shooting that occurred in Romance on Sunday around 7:20 p.m.

According to reports, law enforcement was called to a field adjacent to 250 Quattlebaum Road where they found several armed people in a hunting party.

At some point, police say there was a disagreement over a property line, which resulted in one man being shot in the leg.

The incident is under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

Arkansas Game and Fish Officers are investigating and may charge the shooter with hunting/firearm violations.
