LITTLE ROCK, AR – Little Rock Police were involved in a standoff at the intersection of West 28th and State streets Wednesday night that ended just after midnight.
Dewayne Bush came out of a house located at 2814 South State Street and gave himself up shortly after midnight according to authorities. He is being charged with assault on a family member.
Police say around 8:30pm they received a call of a disturbance. Two brothers got into an argument over money, and one shot a gun into the air. Police say the two separated, with the one who fired the gun, identified as Dewayne Bush, running back into his house. Police say Bush was alone in the house.
Police evacuated nearby homes as a safety precaution. Police believe Bush was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics. Officers were attempting to make contact with Bush but were unsuccessful.
Tactical teams eventually used gas to remove Bush from his home, at which point he gave himself up.
Bush has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
