HOT SPRINGS, AR - One man is dead and another in serious condition after a fight on Chestnut Street. Now police say they have a suspect in custody.

Police say three men were fighting at a home on Chestnut Street in Hot Springs right before 5pm. They say the suspect, 24-year-old Herbert Bennett, left, came back and shot the other two men.

When police arrived, they found one man dead on the sidewalk and another suffering serious injuries. He is now at the hospital.

Police say they arrested Bennett outside Mountain Pine.

Police can't release the victims names until families are notified.

this murder is out on a 1200 dollar bond where is the justice in this case he was home for christmas and my children spent christmas crying that their dad couldnt be there with them that day they lost their father they ost their mother things will never be the same again for the burkes family

i am the wife of justin burkes. i would like to thank you all for the kind words for my husband and our family during this very difficult time. as far as the people on here speaking about this murderer in a light hearted manner you are crazy... this so called man took my husband from me and our chilren at the prime of his life my sons have nightmares every night because of what this monster has done my babies witnessed their father gunned down in the street at their grandparents house during our babys 10th birthday party we did not deserve this Justin did not deserve this i pray every night that someone out there murders him and his family can feel the hell we have to face for the rest of our lives and i pray its me behind that trigger he will pay for what he has done one way or another the streets will get justice RIP&L JUSTIN MICHAEL BUSTDOWN BURKES

@realtalk i so agree with you he is a creep maybe he got tired of taken those but whoopins but all i know is when he go to prison he is going to have to fight to keep people off of him

There has been alot of stories going on. I didn't know the man that shot my son. I knew JD, I didn't like him but he didn't deserve to die especially at a child's birthday and in front of his family and kids. My son was a by-stander. He doesn't deserve to be where he is now, in the ICU at Nat'l Park. I don't want to hear what kind of guy Bennett is. He's where he deserves to be and they need to keep him there.

Man I knw da person He killed yea he did wat he did in the strees an it is wat it is but no matter wat nobody deserves to loose der life he shuld hve took dat butt whoopn like a man an went on bout his bizz all dat happened at his sons 10th bday party now u tell me wer dey do dat @????

My Heart is deeply saddened to hear this or better yet to feel this!!! I've known this young man since my son was in the 2nd grade here in Mississippi. This young man was raised in my sight with respect and dignity towards his fellow man..Something obviously has gone wrong. Instead a condemning this whole crisis. We as a people need to be in prayer for all involved. Talk to our young people, listen to them, be active with them. When you see them going in the wrong direction, try your best to steer them back on course. If not find the help they need and PRAY!!!!!!!!! When all else fails turn them over to GOD!!!

If you thought he was a creep, that's your opinion. However, my opinion from knowing Pierre all of his life is that he is nice guy. However, something obviously went bad wrong....As I stated earlier, I don't know the details, but it's unfortunate that Pierre and the victims landed themselves in a situation where someone's life was taken. Death as a result of violence is a horrible thing...Why can't we all just get along and solve situations through communication rather than killing one another?

and those of you that think he was a nice guy....you have all been deceived...a wolf in sheep clothing...none of them were living on the str8 and narrow... but one of them got carried away...hence the reason his photo is plastered on the news...all of them are in my prayers...
