Van Buren County Tornado Rated EF-2

The National Weather Service in Little Rock's storm surveyors examined damage to make determination.
VAN BUREN COUNTY, AR - The tornado that struck Van Buren County on Wednesday afternoon has been rated an EF-2.

Storm surveyors with the National Weather Service in Little Rock have been on the scene since this morning examining the damage to make the determination of the storm's strength.

The National Weather Service says an EF-2 rating means winds were in the 113-157 mph range and there was "considerable damage."

That damage includes roofs torn off frame houses; mobile homes demolished; large trees snapped or uprooted and cars lifted off the ground.
