LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Vendors at the the Hot Springs Lion Club Gun Show say the gun control debate is pushing more people to buy knives.

"People are learning more that they don't have to depend on a gun, and that knives are a good source of defense," said knifemaker Rusty Polk.

But vendors say people are still buying more guns than knives.

"When the federal government moves in certain directions, people respond to that out of fear or concern or whatever the motivation might be," said seller Lee Floyd.

Sellers say although knives are another option for protection. They also add knives and guns are both dangerous

"A gun is no different than any kind of tool, just keep them in the right hands," said seller Dale Pierce.

Gun rights supporters say as the gun debate grows louder, the desire to carry does too.

"If you tell an American, they can't have it, by golly, they are going to go out and look for it," said Floyd.

The Lions Club Gun Show is a fundraiser, benefiting Central Arkansas charities and sight conservation. It is an annual event, happening since 1985.

Well those look like some pretty long blades there. Let an officer pat you down and find a 6-inch fixed blade on you. It is not a legal carry option. I'm sure someone out there knows the law but I think it is around 4-inches max. Many "big" folders on the market stop at 3 7/8 inch for a reason.

This is how intelligent our president is. In his efforts to push for more gun control, more and more people are buying the so called "assault style weapons" than would be if Obama was not trying to ban them. Thousands upon thousands are buying these "assault style weapons" every day. Obama is actually putting more of these types of guns in the streets by promoting a ban. If he was not trying to ban them, the popularity of them would not be near as big as it is. So is he doing any good by trying to ban them? Absolutely not.

I'm not believing this sh.... WELL, knives are pretty well known to be the weapon of choice for Black women, in particular. I guess this means we will start having classes to learn to weild a knife. LOL ...frankly, I saw a new assault NAILER today (as in nailing stuff like boards) ...no license or anything....seems like a good idea to me.
