CONWAY, AR – It’s not what's happening at fraternity events on campus - it's all out brawls between men and women at off campus events - including UCA student Ashley Thomas getting her face stomped on in a caught on camera brawl that's leading to change.
"We don’t want any of that happening, we just don't want it happening and we're going to do everything we can to prevent it," UCA President Tom Courtway says.
Courtway is talking about a five page report issued Monday afternoon, representing a dozen changes for off-campus frat events.
Simultaneously, Conway police are charging three women for assaulting Thomas. The three charged - Fharren Mason, Miranda Gaines and Alexandra Malone, who covered up her face - didn’t want to talk about the battery charge they each face.
"I don’t know who caused what," Courtway said. "But I do know that we have determined based on the video that our police and others have looked at there were students from other universities and maybe non-students in attendance."
Under the new policy, non UCA students like Gaines and Malone, who police say attend Pulaski Tech, will no longer be allowed to attend off campus parties.
And UCA police will staff every off campus event to make sure ugly and violent scenes like these don't repeat themselves.
