NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Broadway Bridge connecting Little Rock and North Little Rock is coming down in 2013. What will replace it? That's up to you.

A survey released by Metroplan, the long-range regional transportation group for Central Arkansas, Wednesday shows the public wants an iconic bridge but one that can also solve the congestion problems that exist.

When you go newbroadwaybridge.org you find ten chosen bridge concepts to vote on. Some are conventional, some, simply put, are unique.

"The public likes to say how their money is invested,” Jim McKenzie with Metroplan says. “It's an important totem for the community and the community ought to be involved in it." "What we're trying to do is energize the public discussion about the bridge and focus their comments in some kind of structured fashion so they can be meaningful when the highway department has public comment periods."

You pick your favorite three. Then move on to "category 2", popular bridge designs already built throughout the world. There is even one concept that places a razorback right in the middle.

"This piece of public infrastructure will be around for the next 100 years. It will say a lot about what Central Arkansas hopes to be," McKenzie says.

Voting on all concepts and designs continues until December 7th.
