LITTLE ROCK, AR - "It was horrible. We were without power all last night," said Little Rock resident Gerald Coleman as we waits on Entergy crews to restore power to his home.

"The ironic thing about it is that I was just really thanking god for the rain yesterday to cool everything down and then it brings a storm and knocks the power out!"

Most of his food is spoiled and what's left he can't even cook.

"Everything here is electric. Everything," he said. "We have no gas at all."

Entergy has already restored power to most of the 10,000 customers who were cut-off like the Coleman's in last night's storm.

"They typically work 16 hour days when these things are going on and that's what's happening now," said David Lewis with Entergy, Arkansas.

But with more rain on the way, there's no telling where or when the next outage will hit.

"You can only do so much to harden your system against the wrath of nature when it comes," said Lewis.

Fans have been running off a rented generator for 24 hours at Coleman's house to keep the bare minimum creature comforts operating for his family.

"Every body depends on electricity these days and it's not just a convenience, it's a necessity," said Lewis.

Home Depot rented it's last available generator out Saturday afternoon.

"You should have a generator because every body's subject to an outage every once and a while," said Lewis.

"You know how it is with the power - you never know when they're going to restore it," said Coleman.

So while he waits, Coleman will just keep making those much needed runs for more ice.

I would like to know why...the news stations are not alerting the public..that these power outages are not just due to your every day thunderstorms,They are being caused by the hugh m and x class solar flares that have recently launched from our sun...With more predicted..The people need to be told to prepare..Just as one would prepare for a hurricaine or tornado..Anyone with a brain cell can look at these lightening strikes and tell they are not normal. And why is it not being reported that these large flares, cause radio blackouts and power outs..Among many other things..i wonder where people think the weather channel gets their weather reports..They come from places such as www.spaceweather.com...and even there it,s being downplayed...
