LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — While many states require voters to present a photo ID before receiving a ballot, Arkansas law says it is OK for people to present other proof to precinct workers.
Poll workers can check a driver's license or a passport but can also accept a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document showing the name and address of a voter.
If there is a question about whether the person requesting a ballot is who they say they are, the ballot may be set aside and counted provisionally.
Votes are expected from about 65 percent of the state's 1.6 million voters. Turnout 20 years ago was at 72 percent, when Bill Clinton was on the ticket.
