85-hundred jobs are up for grabs Thursday at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.

If you plan on going to the Career Expo put on by the Department of Workforce Services, bring a resume on a thumb drive.

When you get there, park anywhere, and don't bring any cash. The event is free and parking is free. Just make sure you go to the box office entrance. That's where you will sign in, get a map, and either go to one of four workshops, or chat with one of the more than one-hundred employers on hand.

Insurance company American General Life and Accident wants to hire six to ten insurance sales agents and managers tomorrow.

"Self motivated. Good character. Can actually talk to people," says Rob Boling of the people he wants to hire.

If you're changing careers or haven't gone on an interview in a while don't show up looking like a hot mess.

"You don't want to wear anything too short. No flip-flops, cut-offs, T-shirts. You want to make your hair look presentable. Don't overdo the makeup and the perfume," says Kimberly Friedman with the Department of Workforce Services.

Friedman says do wear a business suit. If you don't have one, you can't go wrong with business casual. That means wearing a nice shirt and slacks. Men should wear a tie.

"You don't want an employer to remember you for how well you looked, or how well you were dressed instead of, you know, how bad you looked," says Friedman.

If you are short on time or are going during lunch Thursday, check out the employers hiring by clicking on related links.

So many companies want to hire new employees this year, there is now a waiting list in case one of the vendors cancels.

The career fair goes from ten til four Thursday at Verizon Arena.

Seriously, this is one of the worst news articles that I have ever read. Using the phrase "hot mess" is horrible. I understand trying to relate to today's youth, but don't sacrifice integrity.

It is amazing to me that male employees are not hired or would be fired if a tie is not worn. The tie itself has no meaning so what is actually being said is "I will sacrifice some of my individuality when I come to work here." But why a tie? Why not socks?

If i came in there wearing the one tie i have...it would be obvious that i haven't worn that tie in years....people who are looking for work aren't able to have a business suit and would appear to be uncomfortable if they did....putting out preconceptions are gonna make you miss some really good people...relax some of those silly standards...Resume on a thumb drive are you kidding...a lot of the people DWS deal with everyday don't have a computer much less a thumb drive...or the ability to pay for one....lazy out of touch employer's
