WHITE COUNTY, AR – A White County man has been arrested on a felony warrant after leading police on a chase that ended in a stand off.

According to reports, at approximately 6:00 pm on December 1, deputies from the White County Sheriff’s office were attempting to serve 40-year-old Michael Jones of Judsonia with a warrant as he traveled down Main Street in Searcy. Instead of pulling over, deputies say Jones lead them on a brief chase to a mobile home park outside of Searcy, where he then attempted to back into a police car before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police say Jones then forced his way into a home and tried to hold the homeowner hostage. The homeowner was later released and Jones was taken into custody. Jones had an outstanding warrant for 1st degree battery in connection to an August 2011 stabbing, along with a parole violation warrant. Jones is now facing new charges for Fleeing and False Imprisonment. He is now being held on a $65,000 bond.
