I lived two years of hell with a woman that cut me. Put guns in my face. Hit me with ball bats, plates, lamps, and anything handy. The verbal abuse was even worse. I did what it took to get out. Grabbed clothes and left. Didn't stop for 6 states and the money was gone. Girls let this help you. The witch couldn't find me for three years to get divorced. Don't think about leaving just do it. Learned my lesson. 35 years with this one. Been slapped two times. The first time because I needed it The second because she said it felt so good the first time. We both laughed.

I survived in an abusive relationship for six years. It started out with name calling, belittling...what he called "just being funny". Then it progressed to isolation, he didn't want me having friends, he cut me off from the few I did have and then it moved on to family. I wasn't allowed to call my parents or my siblings unless he was sitting there to make sure we weren't "talking in code". I know, how ridiculous does THAT sound? The last year was the worst. That's when the physical side of it started. I'll spare you the details. I managed to get out of the house with my clothes in a trash bag. Even after I moved into my own place he would park outside and watch to see what I was doing. He even figured out that my back door didn't lock well and I'd come home to find my furniture rearranged, my caller ID erased or my thrown all over the floor. It was just his way of saying "I'm still here". Now, you may be wondering...why didn't I just call the police, why didn't I get a restraining order or an order of protection. That car that was parked outside my house watching every move I made? It was a patrol car. Who do you call when it's the police that you're afraid of? I went for help one time...to the state police. He knew what I'd done before I ever made it home. I swore I'd never do THAT again. That's been almost 15 years ago. I'm doing just fine now with the exception of the occasional panic attack if I'm a little bit later coming home that I'm supposed to be or if I make a spur of the moment decision to go somewhere after work that wasn't planned. If you know somebody in this situation, LISTEN to them. Watch how they act around their significant other. Do they make eye contact? Do they seem unually nervous? These are all signs. I only wish I'd had somebody like charlie c or shorty loc to stand up for me. The scars that it leaves on the INSIDE are way worse than any I have on the outside.

charlie c and shorty loc, my heroes. If I weren’t in Kansas right now, I’d drive the getaway car for you. And once you’re finished teaching the abuser a lesson, just drop him in front of the car. I myself am an escapee from years of the same treatment. I never had my head shoved into the wall because mine was a thrower. The silliest thing he ever threw was a BLT in my face. He wasn’t satisfied with the way I had fixed it. How can I mess up a BLT? What set him off about that sandwich I don’t remember, but his reactions were over the top. I would have fixed him another and ate the first one. There was nothing wrong with it. I don’t have to worry about him anymore. God settled his account. So I don’t have to be afraid of him now.

I will make a deal with any of you gutless men that want to beat a woman. Leave me your number and I will meet you and you can try your luck at someone your own size. You are surely NO man. I have been married to the same woman over 30 years now and I have NEVER raised a hand or caused mental abuse to her or any woman. Please just let me know you cowards!!!
