FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas coach John L. Smith says quarterback Tyler Wilson still has symptoms from a head injury suffered in Saturday's loss to Louisiana-Monroe, and his status is uncertain for this week's game against No. 1 Alabama.

Smith says Wilson, who stayed in Little Rock overnight after the loss, returned to Fayetteville on Sunday and was at the team's practice that evening. However, he says Wilson was still experiencing "grogginess" and won't return to the field until cleared by doctors.

The Razorbacks (1-1) will prepare this week with redshirt freshman Brandon Allen and junior Brandon Mitchell at quarterback. Wilson, the first-team All-Southeastern Conference quarterback last season, missed the second half of the loss to the Warhawks. He's 30-of-47 passing for 563 yards and five touchdowns.

Only had to give up 14 points this morning on a smooth 500 and Bama, this should be good. Like the Hogs, but deep down I am simply a gambler

Keep him out and let him get it all back together. Let Bama come in and do their thing and let Wilson heal up real good for the rest of the season. No sense in letting him take more hits right now.

Wilson should sit this one out, the piggies are gonna get demolished with or without him. I think Saban will run the score up just high enough to cover the point spread so we can all make some money off of the hapless hogs

Unfortunately, the state of our defense has made the question of Tyler Wilson's availability for the Alabama game irrelevant.

Doesn't make much difference who is quarterback if you don't have any defense. Got to get their heads out of their a** and finish off tackles. Bama is going to shove it down the hogs throat and we can't do anything about it.
