LITTLE ROCK, AR - A morning collision sends a Little Rock woman to the hospital and nets the driver who hit her a careless driving citation.

According to a Little Rock Police Department vehicle collision report, Richard Oden, 47, of Little Rock was driving a silver Toyota Prius that hit Justine Valla, 63, of Little Rock at the intersection of H and McAdoo streets in the Midtown section of town just after 7:45.

Valla's condition isn't known. Oden was ticketed by police.

In the accident report, Oden says he was traveling eastbound on H Street before turning to make a right on McAdoo. He says the sunlight was in his eyes and he didn’t see the woman before it was too late.

Also, the car sustained about $1,200 worth of damage and was towed from the scene. There was a child in the car, who was not hurt.

Further charges may depend upon the results of a blood test, but the initial accident report says the driver appeared normal.
