Woman arrested for murder

A 44 year old woman is behind bars accused of killing a 66 year old man.
PINE BLUFF, AR – A 44 year old woman is behind bars accused of killing a 66 year old man. Investigators say it happened around 11 last night.

Jo Ann Bates with the Pine Bluff Police Department says officers were called to 4013 Robinhood Lane just after 11:00pm, Saturday, in reference to a shooting. There they found 66 year old James Johnson, unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelly pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police arrested 44 year old Crystal Joy Scott-Paxson at the scene without incident. She is in the Jefferson County Jail for probable cause first degree murder.

Police are not yet releasing any information reference to the circumstances of the shooting. The victim’s body is being sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for examination.
