FAULKNER COUNTY, AR - Amanda Ewing, charged with capital murder, made her first appearance in a Faulkner County courtroom Thursday.
Prosecutors say Ewing and her ex-husband Clayton Monsees, also charged with capital murder,
worked together to kill Ewing's husband Billy Joe in March. Deputies say Ewing told them she needed to get her husband oh of the picture so she and Monsees could have a relationship.
"As a general rule in any case, capital murder requires premeditation, deliberation and we feel like the facts are sufficient in this case to file capital murder," Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland said.
Deputies say Ewing and Monsees murdered Billy Joe Ewing at the end of a gravel road in Green Toad. At this time, a trial date has yet to be set.
"Capital murder case, you know, can take a year, a year and a half, so," Hiland said.
