CABOT, AR – Heavy rain and strong wind may have been a factor in a car accident that killed a 21-year-old woman Thursday on Peters Road in Cabot.

According to the sheriff’s office report, Brittany Oliger’s white Kia Spectra drove off the road and struck a utility pole on the driver’s side. Members of the North Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department were able to extricate her from the car and she was sent to the hospital where she later died. The report says it appeared that Oliger was not wearing her seatbelt.

Oliger’s baby daughter was strapped into a car seat. Although the report says it did not appear that the child was injured, she was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for observation.
