HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — A Hot Springs woman is to serve 50 years in prison after being convicted in the murder of a woman who was babysitting her grandchildren.

A jury on Thursday convicted 24-year-old Dominic Hobson of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in the 2005 slaying of Mary Adams Anderson. Two other people are charged and are awaiting trial.

Anderson was killed while caring for her grandchildren, ages 2 and 3.

Hobson's attorney argued that she didn't pull the trigger and was forced to go along for the robbery by the others charged in the killing.

The Sentinel-Record reports that the jury sentenced Hobson to 25 years in prison for the murder conviction and 15 years for robbery. A 10-year enhancement was imposed because the killing took place in front of children.

I'm from hot springs I knew dominic's grandmother & mother I also remember dominic when she was a little girl, I also knew mary anderson sweet lady always taking care of her grandchildern. She did not deserve what happen to her. Dominic got what she deserved 50yrs a year for every year that mary adams anderson lived. Dominic have a happy life for the rest of your life in hell !

50 years for killing a grandmother in front of her grandchildren. Arkansas justice to be sure. Guess she must have had a hard childhood or something and the violins were played for the jury.

I'm not crazy about Fox, but the article clearly states that the woman charged with the slaying was 24, not the grandmother!! Since they didn't say Ms. Hobson killed her mother, I presume she killed the mother of the father of her children.

If you read the whole story you can cleary see they were talking about the grandmother being killed. Try not to be so ignorant.

I believe the "Grandmother" is the one that was killed, because the story states she was killed while watching her grandchildren...

Again, FOX16 leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to editing. The actual story is that the lady who was killed was carrying for HER grandchildren...not the grandchildren of the lady involved in the killing.
