LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Sevier County Sheriff says deputies found the body of a kidnapped 19-year-old woman in the trunk of her car. The suspect in the case has been arrested.

The victim has been identified as Wendy Zapata Hernandez. The suspect is 25-year-old Cody Shane Griffin of Horatio.

The Sevier County Sheriff tells Fox 16 this started when deputies responded to Selena’s Satellite in Horatio Thursday morning on a burglary call. A customer reported the store had its doors open, with no one inside.

Investigators looked at surveillance video, and say it shows a man robbing the store with a knife. The assailant left the scene with cash and Hernandez in Hernandez’ car.

Around 1:30pm, the Sheriff’s Department received a call of a man walking down the street in his underwear in Beacon Hill, north of Horatio. This was the murder suspect, Cody Griffin. After his arrest, Griffin told investigators where they would be able to find the car.

The car was located in a wooded near where Griffin was arrested. Hernandez was found in the trunk, apparently stabbed to death.

Arrested,in handcuffs,in his underwear, and smoking a cigarette? I don't remember any cops letting me smoke when arrested! And to clarify, not for anything nearly this serious.I guess the punk had to suck on something!I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut,he will blame it on drugs, what a cop out.No matter the excuse, this is inexcusable! They could have saved taxpayers alot of money by shooting him. This world,in which we live,is getting more and more cruel, mean, and sadistic,by the day.My heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of this young lady.I,sincerely, hope and pray that this punk gets the harshest punishment allowed, and that's nowhere near enough. When he gets to ADC,the sisters will have a big time with this fat punk!As Hank Jr.sings"I'd like to spit some beechnut in that dudes eyes, and shoot him with my 45"!!!

He deserves no less than what he offered her.Until we get tough on crime it will continue this is absolutely uncalled for. I hope he doesn't think for a minute that his tattoed arms are going to impress anyone.Does any one know if this was a isolated thing or did he know her?The family needs our prayers.
