UALR Women's Golf GPA Breaks National Top 10 Rankings

LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) – The UALR women’s golf team has been honored by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association after posting the seventh-best team GPA in the nation during the 2013-14 academic year. The Trojans led the Sun Belt Conference with a team GPA of 3.74.

The WGCA honored UTEP, which posted the highest team GPA nationally, with its All-Scholar Team GPA Award on Thursday. The group also recognized the top 25 women’s golf teams in the nation by GPA. Along with Georgia State, UALR was one of two Sun Belt teams recognized.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
