UCA Police say the fraternity members arrested today will face only hazing charges.
Original story (March 6):
CONWAY, AR - A UCA student identified in a police affidavit as the "Dean of pledges" for the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity has been arrested in a hazing incident.
Isaiah Christopher Ozuna, 22, of Conway, is charged with one count of battery and 4 counts of hazing in an incident that started around midnight Tuesday and lasted into the early morning hours on Wednesday.
Police say it happened inside a home on Krystal Kreek Drive.
According to Ozuna's arrest affidavit, a paddling ceremony for four pledges left one of them with whelps, bruises and unable to walk without pain.
The pledges told police they were all paddled by Ozuna during the ordeal.
The affidavit says each pledge was paddled three times but one of them was paddled six or seven times and also slapped in the face.
They also reported having eggs thrown at them.
