PINE BLUFF, AR - Police are revealing more about a shooting late Monday afternoon they say took place right in front of two officers.
The man who police say shot himself in the incident at Dollarway Rd. and Moreland St. has been identified as Glendale Head, 65, of Jefferson County.
He died shortly thereafter of his injuries at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
According to police, Head was sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle with the door open and his feet on the ground outside the car.
One officer approached the vehicle from behind and asked Head if everything was okay.
That's when the man started getting out of the car while holding a long barrel revolver, according to police.
When the officers pointed their weapons at him, police say Head turned the barrel toward his chest and fired one shot.
Police say when the officers ordered him to put down the weapon he refused but one officer was able to get it away from him while the other called for an ambulance.

PINE BLUFF, AR - An investigation is under way after police say a man flagged down a patrol car before shooting himself in front of officers.
The Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) says it happened Monday afternoon in the area of Dollarway and Moreland.
The man was taken to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center with injuries described as serious, according to police.
The PBPD says two officers approached the man in his car as he flagged them down. As the officers got closer, the white male driver stepped out of the car armed with a pistol.
Police say he then pointed the gun at himself and fired a single round, striking himself in the chest.
One of the officers then disarmed the man while the other officer called for an ambulance.
The man's name is not yet being released pending the notification of next of kin.
