SEARCY, AR -- Police have made an arrest in connection to a bank robbery that occurred earlier this month.

Octavius Anthony, 40 of Augusta, was arrested and charged with attempted robbery from the Feb. 3 incident at First Community Bank (1201 North Maple).

He is being held on a $150,000 bond at the White County Law Enforcement Center.

SEARCY, AR (News Release) - Searcy Police officers were called Monday afternoon to First Community Bank (1201 North Maple) in response to an armed robbery.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were told the suspect came into the bank waving a pistol and demanding money.

Police say he got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A witness told officers they saw the man ride away on a bicycle into the area of a nearby apartment complex.

Police describe the suspect as being about 5’10” tall, soft spoken, and in his late 20’s-early 30’s, who was carrying a drawstring athletic style bag.
