Virginia Airman Charged with Child Pornography Appears in Court

CABOT, AR - A Virginia man is being charged with 500 counts of Child Pornography after police found numerous items in his home that contained child pornography downloads.

During the month of May, Detectives from the Cabot Police Department began an investigation into the downloading of Child Pornography inside the city limits of Cabot. Detectives along with officers from Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children, United States Secret Service, and the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations worked together to gather evidence, locate, and arrest, Senior Airman James Lee Mounie, age 27 of Virginia.

Senior Airman Mounie was arrested at his place of employment on the Little Rock Air Force Base on May 19. After Mounie was in custody, he was taken to his home by officers, so they could carry out a search warrant.

After officers searched the home, numerous items that contained child pornography downloads were found by police including multiple USB drives and a laptop computer.

At this time, Mounie is being charged with 500 counts of Child Pornography, a class B felony.

Mounie had his first appearance on May 20 at the Lonoke County Courthouse and was given a $20,000 bond.
