Ontario home filled with clown memorabilia up for sale

House expected to sell above asking price

An Ontario home with more than 1,500 clown statues, photos and other memorabilia has attracted multiple potential buyers and is expected to sell for above asking price.

The BBC reports the single-family home is making headlines for the odd decor, which the family has been collecting for 30 years.

Michael McMannis, son of the homeowners, says they began to collect the clowns because his stepfather wanted to distract himself from his alcohol abuse.

"My stepdad had a drinking issue as perceived by my mother. Every clown represents a bottle of beer that he would have bought."

The couple's realtor says the couple has been overwhelmed by the media attention.
