It happened at Today's Furniture on 7th and Gaines.
With the roof blown off and metal thrown everywhere, people nearby say they're just thankful no one was hurt.
Tyler Pack, who works across the street, said, "I knew the storm was coming, but I didn't know it would be like this."
People say loud noises -- from winds and rain -- pierced their ears.
Thomas Chunn, who works at Today's Furniture, said, "All I heard was a boom boom boom! "
Samuel Ellis, who works in the area, said, "And you heard a noise, a big boom, a transformer over here blew."
Along with ripping off the roof at the Today's Office warehouse, winds blew over steel signs and pulled out insulation from buildings.
The yellow insulation was tossed all over parking lots, sidewalks and streets.
Ellis said, "So all this insulation came through and it started raining down!"
It was a wild end to a Friday leaving folks more ready -- than ever -- to start their weekend.
Ellis said, "With all the crazy weather we've been having here recently, it did get your heart racing."
It is not safe around the area of Today's Office because there are some hot wires hanging pretty low.
Once that's taken care of, the cleanup process will begin.
There were other buildings with damage in the downtown area, like broken windows, but nothing compared to what was seen at Today's Office.
