Winter Weather Advisory Expanded to Include Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a Winter Storm Warning for a section of north central Arkansas that includes Russellville and a Winter Weather Advisory for an area that now includes Little Rock.

The Winter Storm Warning began at 6 a.m. this morning and continues through midnight for an area that includes Booneville, Clarksville, Jasper, Paris, Russellville and Western Grove. Meteorologists are predicting 3-5 inches of snow for that area with higher totals in higher elevations.

A Winter Weather Advisory runs the same time and includes Batesville, Beebe, Conway, Mountain Home, Searcy and Morrilton. Forecasters expect roughly 1-3 inches of snow in this area. It's also possible for some ice accumulation.

A second Winter Weather Advisory begins at 6 p.m. tonight for the Little Rock metro area, Cabot, Pine Bluff, Arkadelphia and other towns. That advisory expires at midnight.

Travel could be a problem in parts of the area Sunday into Monday morning.

Snowfall is expected to end by late Sunday evening.
