WLR Breathes Easier After Arrest in Road Rage Case

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- There was no answer Saturday afternoon at the home off Longtree Circle listed on a report detailing the arrest of 27-year-old Andrew Cody Cortinez.
Pulaski County deputies say he was the man who fired at least three shots into an S-U-V during a fit of road rage last Monday.
Three victims say they were on Pinnacle Valley road near the Little Rock yacht club when Cortinez became enraged because they were driving slow on the icy roads.
The victims told deputies Cortinez blocked them in, got out of his car and fired the shots as they tried to drive away.
One of the victims was cut by some shattering glass, but none were hit with any bullets.
After Cortinez was arrested late Friday, deputies say he admitted to firing into the S-U-V.  He faces five felony charges.  Records show he is a convicted felon and was paroled from state prison last October after serving just a third of a three-year sentence stemming from 2012 Aggravated Assault charge.

One of the victims in the S-U-V with his wife when Cortinez opened fire, said his wife hasn't been able to sleep and they've had to leave central Arkansas just to feel safe.
Neighbors say it is Cortinez's mother who lives in the house on Longtree Circle.  They said they're relieved Cortinez is behind bars but were unwilling to speak on camera.
