(Sports Network) - Ichiro Suzuki and the New York Yankees are closing in on a two-year contract, according to a story on the team's website.

The 39-year-old outfielder's deal will likely be worth between $12 and $13 million.

Acquired by the Yankees on July 23 from the Seattle Mariners, Suzuki batted .322 with five homers and 27 RBI in 67 games for New York.
