Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira received some good news Sunday when an MRI revealed there was no tear in his injured right wrist.

The exam did indicate inflammation in the elbow, however, and another trip to the disabled list is not out of the question for the All-Star first baseman.

Teixeira was removed prior to the start of the bottom of the fourth inning of Saturday's game against the Angels. He missed the first two months of the season after injuring the tendon sheath in his wrist while training for the World Baseball Classic in March.

The 33-year-old has struggled mightily since returning from the disabled list on May 31, batting just .151 with three home runs and 19 strikeouts in 53 at- bats. Teixeira is currently mired in a 3-for-31 slump after going 0-for-2 in Saturday's game.
