Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger will miss the remainder of the season to undergo knee surgery, the team announced on Thursday.
Granger, who had already missed the majority of 2012-13 season after undergoing a procedure in October for patellar tendinosis, reappeared in the Pacers' lineup on Feb. 25, but played in just five contests before his left knee continued to give him soreness.
In a statement, the team said the decision to sideline the 6-foot-8, 228- pounder for good was made after conservative treatment options could not alleviate the discomfort. Granger is expected to be ready for training camp.
The New Mexico product averaged 18.7 points, five rebounds and 1.8 assists per game last year after starting in all 62 of Indiana's contests.
