Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley is being investigated by police in regards to an alleged sexual assault that took place at his home back in January, according to a report from the Arizona Republic.

Beasley has not been arrested or charged with any crimes over the incident, which a woman told Scottsdale police occurred at the player's residence in Paradise Valley on Jan. 13.

"At this point we are investigating an allegation into a sex assault charge made against Michael Beasley," Scottsdale police officer Dave Pubins said in an e-mail to the Republic on Tuesday. "There is no booking photo as he was not arrested or charged with a crime. This investigation is ongoing."

Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 draft, was cited earlier in the year for driving with a suspended driver's license and operating a vehicle without proper registration after being pulled over for speeding.

The 23-year-old averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds over 75 games last season, his first with the Suns after coming over in a trade with Minnesota.
