Eden Prairie, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Vikings placed cornerback Chris Cook on injured reserve Friday, but with the "designated for return" tag.

In a Friday press conference, Frazier revealed that Cook suffered a broken wrist in Thursday's 36-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Cook, a third-year pro out of Virginia, sustained the injury during the second quarter of that home setback. He totaled 31 tackles in eight games this season.

Under the rules of the new IR designation, Cook is ineligible to participate in either team or individual drills, but is eligible to return to practice after six weeks and can return to the active list in eight.

Rookie Josh Robinson is expected to take Cook's slot, starting with Minnesota's Nov. 4 game at Seattle.
