Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - Florida Panthers goaltender Jose Theodore has a torn right groin and may be headed for surgery, according to RDS of Canada.

Theodore was tabbed as the starter in Saturday's 6-2 loss at Carolina, but departed the game after his first save of the contest, almost 2 1/2 minutes in, with an obvious right leg injury. He had to be carried off the ice, unable to put any pressure on the leg, and Scott Clemmensen was called upon for the remainder of the contest.

It is expected the Clemmensen will be in the net for the back end of the home- and-home set which is scheduled for south Florida on Sunday evening.

The 36-year-old is just 4-6-3 with a 3.29 goals-against average and .893 save percentage in 15 appearances this season.
