Victoria, Australia (Sports Network) - Matthew Giles fired a 5-under 67 on Sunday to win the Victorian Open Championship by a single shot.
Giles finished his first Australasian Tour title at 13-under 275.
The New South Welshman, who lost his Web.com Tour card at the end of last year, turned in a flawless final round and carded one of his five birdies at Thirteenth Beach Golf Links on the final hole to secure the victory.
"It actually got a little bit difficult there on 18, the wind switched and it played a lot longer than it had previously done this week but fortunately the birdie was enough to get it done," said Giles.
Ryan Lynch (68) and amateur Nathan Holman (70) both finished a shot back at 12-under, while Stephen Dartnall (66) and Neven Basic (66) tied for fourth at minus-11.
Playing in the same group as Giles, Lynch had a chance to force a playoff, but his birdie putt on the 18th narrowly missed the cup.
