JONESBORO, AR (News release) - Arkansas State head football coach Blake Anderson will make an appearance at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock Monday, Aug. 18, to discuss the upcoming season and answer questions from Red Wolves fans as the team prepares for the 100th season of A-State football.
The free event is open to the public and will be held in Meeting Room A at Verizon Arena. The program will begin at noon, starting with a welcome from Arkansas State Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir and Anderson will then address those in attendance. A question and answer session with both Mohajir and Anderson will follow.
“We are looking forward to visiting Little Rock and connecting with Arkansas State’s outstanding fan base in Central Arkansas,” Associate Director of Athletics for External Relations Mickey Ryan said. “This will be another great opportunity for fans and our administration and coaches to visit about all the excitement not only surrounding A-State’s 100th season of football, but also the football program’s positive direction under new head coach Blake Anderson.”
The A-State football team has conducted 12 practices as part of its preparation leading up to the Aug. 30 season opener against Montana State at Centennial Bank Stadium. The Red Wolves held their first scrimmage of the fall Saturday, Aug. 9, and ran over 100 plays that included sessions focusing on offense, defense and special teams.
Arkansas State continues its fall camp schedule with morning practices for the remainder of the week leading up to Fan Appreciation Day Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. at Centennial Bank Stadium. The event is being held in conjunction with License to Howl, which runs from 8 – 9:30 a.m. and fans wishing to have a license plate attached to their vehicle will need to enter the Centennial Bank Stadium parking lot from Alumni Boulevard.
Season tickets for the 2014 campaign are on sale at the A-State Ticket Office, located at the Convocation Center’s lower red entrance. The ticket office can also be contacted at (870) 972-2781 and tickets may be purchased online at tickets.astate.edu.
