UPDATE -- 8/19/12

Not sure if the Bryant 13-year all-star team has a nickname, but right now they're the Buzzsaw.

The squad has terrorized the rest of the competition at the Babe Ruth World Series.  Today they defeated, fellow unbeaten Waite Park, MN, 12-2.

Bryant finishes group play with a perfect 4-0 record.  That accomplishment gets them a 1st round bye in the elimination round.  Their next game is Friday August 24th.

UPDATE -- 8/18/12

Saturday the Bryant All-Stars took down Westfield, MA 23-11 in a slugfest. Alex Shurtleff finished with 7 RBI's, which I'm told is a Babe Ruth World Series record.  Impressive stuff.

Bryant (3-0) will close out group play with a game against Waite Park, MN (3-0) on Sunday.

A team from Bryant is competing in the 13-year old division of the Babe Ruth World Series.

The 10-team tournament is split into 2 divisions.  Bryant won their first game 9-2 over Kitsap, Washington, then followed with an 8-1 over Meridian, Idaho.  The team is one of only 2 squads who are undefeated in group play.

Their next game is Saturday August 18th against Westfield, Massachusetts.

You can follow all the action on the Babe Ruth website.
